• Girls Football Team Success

  A HUGE well done to our Yr5/6 Girls' Football Team who have finished top of their group in the Burnley School's Girls Football Tournament and progressed through to the next round. 

  The girls played both their group matches last night against Casterton Primary School and Hapton Primary School.

  The first match of the evening against Casterton was a tough affair however the girls dug deep and won the match 2-0 with goals from Mione and Chloe. The whole team defended well and Isabella did superb as our stand-in goalkeeper to keep a clean sheet.

  In the second match, the girls really found their rhythm and ran out victorious with another goal from Mione and a hatrick from Chloe. The girls all played fantastic with Pippa and Sophie being the rocks in defence and Alana making a couple of great saves. In midfield, Ava and Mione played some fantastic football with Georgia, Kiera and Isabella always giving them an outlet whenever they needed it. Up front, Chloe ran her socks off and got her rewards by scoring 3 fantastic goals.

   

  All the girls represented Wellfield perfectly with fantastic sportwomanship shown at all times. I am really proud of them all. Well done girls!
