To help pupils to develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to manage life’s challenges and make the most of life’s opportunities. We will ensure that the children of Wellfield Church School are equipped with the skills and knowledge that they need to tackle the ‘real world.’ Our Christian values will be taught alongside our PSHE to enable the children to be the best they can be.
We at Wellfield, aim to ensure that the children in the EYFS;
We at Wellfield, aim to ensure that the children in KS1 and KS2;
We will achieve the above through following our PSHE curriculum which focuses on the above strands and develops them more accordingly with the age range of children. Children are taught PSHE as a stand-alone subject once a fortnight and also discreetly through other subjects too, for example; healthy eating in Science, our bodies and movement in PE and computing through e-safety. At Wellfield we have had e-safety evenings where we invite parents in to discuss their children’s safety and well-being whilst online at home. Our Family Learning Mentor, Mrs Cook, is aware of our children’s individual needs and therefore addresses any concerns we may have about a child’s personal, social and emotional well-being.
Our children at Wellfield will be well rounded individuals with positive well being and mental health. They will have instilled a love and passion to help others and care for their world around them. Making positive relationships will be second nature through a love of wanting to care for and help others. Growing up in Britain, children will have an understanding of their British values and what it means to be British but also having the tolerance for all cultures, race and beliefs.
