Our Christian Vision

As a loving school family, we seek to serve one another and the wider community, offer hope and enable all to flourish. We encounter the Christian faith through our Methodist and Anglican traditions, so that all understand what it means to live a life of faith.

SIAMS Inspection Outcome! September 2023

On behalf of the Governing Board of Wellfield Methodist & Anglican Church School, we are delighted to share the results of an inspection that took place a couple of weeks ago – a Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS).  In a similar way to Ofsted, all Church of England and Methodist schools are visited regularly to evaluate the key questions: Who are we as a school? What are we doing here? How, then, shall we live and learn together?  By understanding these questions, the new SIAMS Framework highlights and seeks understanding of the theology that underpins a school’s Christian vision.

I am thrilled to say that we have received a wonderful report which we should all be very proud of as a school community.  ‘Through its vision and practice, the school is living up to its foundation as a Church school and is enabling pupils and adults to flourish.’  Many areas of the Framework were found to be ‘exceptional or impressive’ and the inspector clearly identified that we are enabling all our children to flourish! It was also so lovely to read the phrase, 'truly reciprocal church school partnerships form a flourishing community as they ‘watch over one another in love’' – we feel that this captures exactly how our nurturing school vision was always intended.

Our wonderful ethos and environment is thanks to the energy, skills and commitment of our whole school community – staff, parents, children, governors, the Churches and wider community.  It is a huge team effort and we feel very fortunate to be part of such a supportive and caring ‘family’.  There is also clearly a great deal of work that goes on behind the scenes to ensure that our children receive and will continue to receive the best education and wider opportunities.

Thank you all for your continued support and commitment to our school journey.
