Guided Reading

Our Guided Reading sessions will try to follow the same format as the rest of the school however as we prepare for SATs we will also have lots of little tests to complete as well as whole class reading sessions

Below is an insight into what you can expect your child to be doing in each of the different sessions throughout the week.:

If your child is on the Pre-reading Activity they would be asked to read part of the text set and find any unknown vocabulary and meanings, because in the Guided Reading session they will be asked questions about the text.

If your child is on the Post-reading Activity they will be answering some questions following on from our discussions.

If your child is on Independent Reading, they will be able to read any book they like. 

If your child is on Reading Comprehension, they be completing the comprehension questions for that week. 

Fantastic Book Awards:

Again this year we have entered the Fantastic Book Awards. We have been looking at a selection of 6 different books which are listed below. At the end of March we will be voting for our favourite one!

Once you have read your book and want a different book or move to a different level, please use the website below. You will be able to to search for a book and then see what AR Reader band it is and if it is suitable.
