During the Spring Term we have been looking at suspense stories and have been focusing on two short stories by Pie Corbett - Kidnapped and The Nightmare Man. Both showcase every element the children need to include in their own writing in terms of the teacher assessment framework for them to be judged to be working at age related for the end of Key Stage 2.

In Summer Term, alongside preparing for the last push up to SATs, we will be focusing on the story 'The 1,000 Year Old Boy'. The unit will take us all the way up to the end of June 2022 when we will then focus on the transition units in preparation for their move to Year 7. 

In English during Autumn 1, we looked at the book 'The Nowhere Emporium' by Ross Mackenzie. Feel free to have a read of the first few chapters of the book that can be found  below. The children produced some FANTASTIC writing based on this novel that was a joy to read
