WORLD BOOK DAY 2017
We had a wonderful time celebrating World Book Day. Our enjoyment of reading shone through as we wore outfits that celebrated words and language and exchanged books in an exciting 'Book Blind Date'.
There was a real 'buzz' about books and reading in our classroom and so fantastic that lots of grown-ups came into school to be part of our exciting day! Children enjoyed sharing their 'Blind Date Book' with parents along with scrummy cookies and drinks.
Children really enjoyed their mission to produce a Non-Chronological Report about the International Space station. The slideshow of pictures above shows how the children looked at sub-headings to organise information that they found. We then turned our classroom into a specialist research centre and children became experts in their own areas before feeding back the information to their groups.
We were so proud of our finished work!
Year Two Fire Safety Talk
In January, we had a visit by the firemen to talk about fire safety...
Year 2 were visited by the firemen from Burnley fire station to give a talk on fire safety which they thoroughly enjoyed. The message was clear... GET OUT AND STAY OUT!
